Speaker: Brooke Thomas, Deputy Director, Plan 2020 – Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee
Brooke is a certified, professional planner with over 12 years of experience working in the field of community planning and development. She has served as a trusted advisor to multiple county and municipal governments. She has firsthand knowledge of and experience in land use planning, economic development, ordinance creation and administration, environmental planning, regional transportation planning, public involvement and outreach, grant administration, and site development plan review. She is the Deputy Director for the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee (GIPC), a non-profit organization that convenes representatives from all sectors of the community to address the most significant issues of concern and areas for opportunity related to the progress of the City of Indianapolis. Prior to joining GIPC, Brooke was a Senior Planner for the Department of Metropolitan Development at the City of Indianapolis, and has served as a lead planner for the Indy Rezone project and co-project manager and lead planner for the Indy FastTrack Initiative. Previously, she served as a Project Manager and Planner at HNTB Corporation completing over 40 planning documents and related studies and assignments throughout the State of Indiana. Brooke holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning and Development from the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University, and has a minor in Sociology.

August 28, 2014 – Updated 2015 Indiana Building Codes
Dennis Bradshaw from FP&C Consultants, Inc. is speaking about major updates in the 2015 Indiana Building Code. Dennis Bradshaw’s code experience dates back to his days with the Indiana Department of Fire and Building Services. His work for the Department included; plan review, interpretation of building code requirements and assisting applicants through the building code review process as well as training of State and Local Building and Fire Officials. From there Dennis has spent the last 16 years in private practice as a code consultant. He has been involved in many of the major projects in the State of Indiana as well as uncounted other projects across the country ranging from industrial to residential to institutional. This experience on both sides of the fence allows Dennis to apply the codes to a wide range of building designs from both the Code Official’s and Designer’s perspectives. Dennis has also been a member on past Indiana Building Code committees as well as a committee member for the NFPA 5000 Building Code. Dennis is a certified member of the International Code Council and a member of the National Fire Protection Association.

Larry Browning from Evergreen Investment Corp was Exchangor of the Year in 2000.
Clint Fultz from Prime Site Brokers has won the Exchangor of the Year in 1993, 1999, 2004, and 2008.
Ron Tedrow from Tedroco, Inc. won Exchangor of the Year in 2004 and 2013.
April 24, 2014 – US31 Hamilton County Road Project
Coming to us from CHA Companies is Jason Rowley, a consultant working for INDOT’s New US 31 road project in Hamilton County. Joining Jason is Michelle Kearns from Empower Results. The New US 31 Hamilton County team will provide IREX members with an overview of the project that will upgrade US 31 to freeway standards from I-465 at the Marion-Hamilton county line, through Carmel and Westfield to SR 38. In terms of dollars, this will be the largest and most aggressive road project ever completed in Hamilton County.
The presentation will include a review of completed and upcoming construction, as well as the opportunity for IREX members to ask specific questions about the project.

We are pleased to have Dean Murphy, CCIM and Julie Lester from Fairway Commercial Lending. They will be giving a review of their loan programs as they relate to commercial real estate. Fairway Commercial Lending is a Commercial Mortgage Banking company with a focus in providing commercial real estate financing solutions for business owners and investors seeking to purchase or refinance commercial property.
